A 17 year old P plate driver who had a mid range blood alcohol concentration when she was caught driving a car with four passengers, and then lied to police about being the driver, was disqualified from driving for six months and fined $400.

She was also placed on a good behaviour bond for six months with the condition that she attend a traffic offenders programme.

Another P plater, aged 18 years, was also disqualified from driving for six months and fined $400 after being convicted in Cobar Local Court last week of driving with a mid-range prescribed concentration of alcohol (PCA).

According to the police facts presented to the court, the man had a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.115 when he was caught driving in Wetherell Crescent last month.

A high range drink driver who crashed his vehicle into a gutter in Woodiwiss Avenue was placed on a good behaviour bond for two years after pleading guilty to the charge.

The 37 year old man had his charge conditionally discharged.

A woman who had a mid range PCA when she failed to give way and collided with another vehicle also appeared in court last week.

She was found guilty of the charge but Magistrate R Maiden dismissed the charge and elected not to record a conviction under Section 10 of the Crimes Act.

She was placed on a good behaviour bond for one year after being found guilty of driving in Louth Road with a BAC of 0.115 last month.

A 21 year old woman pleaded guilty to driving with a mid range PCA and was disqualified from driving for one year.

She was also fined $500 and placed on a good behaviour bond for one year.

The P plater had been caught driving in Barton Street with a BAC of 0.085, and was also issued with warnings at the time for not displaying P plates on the vehicle and not carrying her licence.

A 22 year old man who was caught driving a utility in Margaret Street with a number of people in the rear tray was found guilty of driving with a mid range PCA.

He was fined $500 and disqualified from driving for six months.

Two men, aged 26 and 27, both had their charges of driving with a mid range PCA conditionally discharged in court.

The 26 year old was placed on a good behaviour bond for 12 months, while the 27 year old will serve a good behaviour bond for 18 months.

A 24 year old female P plate driver caught with a BAC of 0.03 also had her charge conditionally discharged in court, and will serve a good behaviour bond for one year.
