Wednesday September 23, 2009

A 54 year old Cobar man has been banned from driving and will serve a
good behaviour bond for three years after being convicted of driving with a high range prescribed concentration of alcohol (PCA).

The man appeared in Cobar Local Court last week where he was also charged with driving with an expired licence.

He was also fined a total of $1,400 for the offences after pleading guilty to both.

According to the police facts presented to the court, the man was found to have been driving with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.175 in July this year, and his licence had expired approximately one month before.

A 23 year old Narromine woman was also disqualified from driving when she appeared in Cobar Local Court last week charged with driving with a mid range PCA.

She pleaded guilty to the offence, and was disqualified from driving for six months and fined $400.

The woman had been caught driving in Marshall Street Cobar last month with a BAC of 0.115.

An 81 year old Cobar man and a 55 year old Cobar woman both had their drink driving charges dismissed under Section 10 of the Crimes Act after they both appeared in Cobar Local Court last week.
