A day of mixed weather conditions greeted the dedicated shooters who contested this year’s Cobar Pistol Club Spring Shoot on Sunday.
The day dawned fine, but as the shoot progressed the weather closed in with shooters competing in the final events in between rain squalls.
A range of events were contested including 25m and 50m Standard Pistol, cut throat air pistol, and rapid fire events. There were some great individual contests between shooters, with the high calibre of our local shooters quite evident.
The SDS and Empire Hotel 25m Standard Pistol event was won by Peter Miller with a score of 572. Second was Steve Turton (568) and third Anita Neate (561).
The results of the Fairbank AutoPro 50m Standard Pistol were: 1st Steve Turton—425, 2nd Robert Neate—405 and 3rd Michael Turton—355.
The Broughton’s Field Services Cut Throat Air Pistol event was won by Robert Neate, with Ben Turton second and Steve Turton third. The Gecko Espresso Highest Off Pistol prizes went to Steve Turton—1170 (first) and Robert Neate—1075 (second).
The 30 Shot Rapid Fire event winners were: 1st Roslyn Martin—475, 2nd Lloyd Mitchell-470 and 3rd Ben Turton—412.
The PC Desktop Support Teams event was won by Robert Neate and Peter Miller.
Some other prizes were also presented (for a bit of fun) with Merv O’Brien and Lloyd Mitchell the recipients.—contributed
