Bowman’s winners revealed at presentation night

The Cobar Bowman’s Club 2008 competition season was finalised recently with a trophy presentation night to club champions and a Christmas party.
Trophy winners for the Championship weekend are as follows: Cub Boy Compound A Grade—1st Thomas Berthelsen (1166); Junior Boy Compound A Grade—1st Marshall Anderson (1198) and 2nd Bradley Harris (1052); Junior Boy Bowhunter Unlimited Compound—1st Greg Patten (1518); Junior Boy Freestyle Unlimited Compound—1st John Arnold (1546); Junior Boy Freestyle Unlimited Recurve—1st Zeb Tulloh (510); Senior Ladies Recurve D Grade—1st Katrina Ward (670); Senior Ladies Compound D Grade—1st Robyn Church (730); Senior Men’s Recurve D Grade 1st—Tim Arnold (676); Senior Men’s Recurve D Grade 1st—Brian Church (648); Senior Men’s Compound D Grade—1st Rex Berthelsen (606); and Best Overall Trophy—John Arnold.
Annual Perpetual Trophies were also awarded on the night with Greg Patten receiving the Most Improved Archer award for 2008 and Darrel Warren was awarded the Clubman trophy.
Tim Arnold and Roger Anderson received Appreciation Awards for their work on the club grounds throughout the year.
The 2008 trophies for bow hunting went to John Arnold for the Best of Species—Fox, the Most Rabbits, and the Junior Bowhunter of the Year-Men’s trophies.
Shane Dupille was awarded the Best of Species—Goat and the Senior Bowhunter of the Year—Men’s.
Medallions were also awarded to members who participated successfully on the last Fun Day.
Thomas Berthelsen did well to win the four cub events.
Juniors and Seniors competed against each other with Zeb Tulloh winning the V Shoot and The Wand, Peter Rogers the Pop Ups and the Noughts and Crosses prizes, Dick Tulloh won the Flu-Flu, Marshall Anderson the Water Bottles and Brad Kendrick won the Running Pig event.
Club president Peter Rogers acknowledged the members for their support and participation throughout the 2008 season and said they looked forward to another successful year in 2009.—contributed
