Golfers get out in the good weather

Fine weather over the weekend brought out golfers in good numbers however the scores weren’t overly flattering, possibly due to the lushness of the fairways restrict-ing the run obtained from “miss hits”.
A field of 22 players contested a par event on Saturday with Ian Prendergast emerging as the winner with a +4 score. He was chased home by Blake Dunne (+3) and Garry Hay (+2).
Nearest the pins went to Prendergast, Hay, Peter Brien and Janine Ryan (2).
The chicken run winners were Prendergast, Hay, Phillip Arnold and John Collins.
There were 28 starters on Sunday to play a stableford event.
Colin Green, with a score of 39, took home the money with Charlie Kenny (37) and Bruce Mitchell (37) filling the minor placings.
Nearest the pins were hit by Jeb Bishop (2), Barbara Barklimore, Neville Fugar and Jan-nine Wilkin.
The chicken run winners were Green, Geoff Dunne, Bob Baker, Janine Ryan, Bishop and Garry Wilkin.—contributed
