Zoë Harland (centre) scored a match record five tries for the GW Spartans in their touch game against Joblink last Thursday night at Ward Oval.

Decisive victories by competition leaders GW Spartans and RGM featured in last Thursday’s round of the mixed touch competition.

The GW Spartans turned on an expansive performance to overwhelm the young Joblink combination 21-4.

Speedy winger Zoë Harland led the GW Spartan’s scoring spree with a match record five tries or 10 points with female tries awarded as two points.

Steve Ford (3 tries), Matt Garland (2), Gerard Francisco, Brett Pitkin and Demi Smith also touched down for the free-wheeling Spartans.

Brodie MacKay crossed twice for Joblink with best and fairest points going to Harland and Francisco.

A seven try blitz by playmakers Doug North and Paul Gauci set the platform for RGM’s 22-2 triumph over Cool Runnings.

Lively youngsters Brendan Everett (4 tries), Rhys Power (4), Luke Haldoupis (3) and Ni-kolah Best also contributed to the massive tally.

Haldoupis and Nicola Harbison shared best and fairest honours.

Cool Runnings’ two consolations tries re-sulted from clever counter attack initiated by Michael Warren and Nick Fryer.

Competition improvers Orana Credit Union displayed enterprise in attack and vigorous defence to outpoint commercial rivals DJW 7-1 in their match.

Quick stepper Macauley Dawson, who shared player of the match honours with Kelly Bridge, crossed for four mostly runaway tries.

David Watson, Wade Potter and Courtney Hillier added extras while Sam Sellick posted a late consolation try for DJW.
