Poker competition is progressing well

The Poker competition is progressing well at the Golfie with games being contested each Thursday and Sunday at the club.
Players are also keenly lining up to test their skills in the monthly Saturday night games which offer $1,500 to the winner.
The next Saturday night game is April 18.
The club also offers tuition to beginner players with a ladies and learners game to be held on Saturday April 4 at 5.30pm.
There were 20 players in the mix for last Thursday’s free game with 21 lining up for the cash game.
Phillip Arnold was the winner of the free game with Peter Sherwood second and Leigh Stevens in third place.
Sam Hardwick took out the cash game from Greg Clark and Colleen Harvey.
There were 12 players for last Sunday night’s free game with Gaylene Luland the winner from John Harvey and Kyle Roberts.
The cash game had 19 players with Les Arnold the winner.
Newcomer, Tom Chandler was in second place after making the final table on his debut.
Third place went to Tom Fox.
The free and cash games offer royal flush jackpots which currently stand at $494 and $272 respectively.
Les Arnold is currently running second in the regional point score competition.
The competition welcomes new players with lots of tips given by the game’s friendly coordinators.—Royal Flush
