Sampling expert visits Cobar
Wednesday May 26, 2010

Peak Gold Mines and the Cobar Branch of the AusIMM last week hosted a visit from one of the world’s most recognised experts on sampling and quality control, Francis Pitard, who conducted a two day workshop with 21 participants from Peak and CSA mines. Mr Pitard was an interesting speaker with a colourful career, starting out as a nuclear chemist in France, and working in Tahiti and New Caledonia. He was mentored by the person who invented sampling theory, Pierre Gy.
