Bartlett bowls well

Cobar Bowling and Golf Club bowler Justin Bartlett has had a successful week of bowls, claiming two District titles.
The main event for the Golfie bowlers this week was the final of the District Pairs Championships on Sunday, where Bartlett and Don Roberts defeated the Bourke pairing of Glen Knight and Kurt Dickson 22-13.
In the earlier rounds, the Cobar Memorial Services Club pair of Dick and Kyle Roberts defeated Brewarrina’s team 12-11.
Bartlett also recorded a win in the District Singles final when he defeated Cobar Memorial Services Club bowler Paddy Phillips on his home green, 31-20.
Last Thursday there was a good roll up of bowlers for Golden Oldies, with the result being fought out between the triples teams.
Alan Strange, Joe Chandler and Rod Leahy defeated Dick Roberts, Max Humphries and Trevor Bartlett by a margin of eight points.
Sunday’s normal Dollars Run bowls was not contested due to the Regional meeting of ClubsNSW at the Golfie.—Max
