Junior soccer is heading into final rounds of competition

The final rounds of the Cobar Junior
Soccer season are being played out over the next few weeks at Ward Oval.
There are two more games of the 2009 season, followed by the Zone Gala Day and then grand final games and presentation.
Last Saturday in the Minis division, Rangers were victorious over United 6-2 in the first game.
Two of the Rangers’ goals were scored by Sebastian Best and the other four by Riley Porter who played his best game of the season.
One goal each was scored by United players Ethan Gilbert and Stevie Toomey.
The next game between Spurs and Wanderers was an exciting 1-all draw.
Goals were scored by Ben Griffiths for Spurs and Jack Fazulla for Wanderers.
In the Mids division, the first game was a close match between United and Rangers (who were missing a few of their key players) resulting in a 2-0 win to United.
Attila Szekely scored the two goals for United.
The second game between Spurs and Wanderers also had the spectators on tenterhooks, with the final result a 3-2 win for Spurs.
The Senior division game was another hard fought match between United and Spurs with a 2-1 win to the Spurs team.
Goals were scored by Ben Claxton and Tylah Vloedmans for Spurs and Taylor Gilbert for United.
In the Under 18s game United’s goals were scored by Jason Foster, Shane Place, Rhys Smith and Wade Smith (2).
Tony Place (4) and Marshall Anderson (1) scored for the Spurs.
This week The John Mitchell Pharmacy’s weekly soccer awards were presented to Riley Porter, Marley Jones, Sami Gosper, Georgia Boland, Robert Grant, Dominic Pearce, Joshua Lehmann, Wyatt Proudlove, Grace Schoff, Michaela O’Neill, Nick Mines, Joel Rorke, Ben Clayton, and Braydon Greenaway.—contributed
