Both Cobar’s state and federal parliament representatives were in town last week for a ‘Pollies in the Pub’ informal meet and greet with constituents.
Nationals’ State Member for Barwon Kevin Humphries and Federal Member for Parkes Mark Coulton discussed issues with locals at the Empire Hotel last Wednesday.
Mr Coulton is on the campaign trail with the federal election called for late next month.
He has been the member for Parkes since he was first elected in 2007, and prior to that was mayor of Gwydir Shire Council.
Cobar, which is currently part of the Calare electorate, will be moved to Parkes following the upcoming election after a redistribution.
Four other candidates have nominated for the Parkes electorate: Mat Parmeter (Greens), Andrew Brooks (Labor), and John Clements and Mick Colless (both Independent).
