Wednesday July 28, 2010
A field of 28 players turned up to compete in the CADJ Car Wash golf sponsored day on Saturday which was a stroke event.
The winner on the day was John Potter with a score of 65.
He was followed by ‘Mr Consistency’ Bruce Mitchell (65) and Troy Hartman (66).
Nearest the pins were recorded by Hartman, Daryl Lynch, Scott Mayne and Bill Bartlett.
Another good field of 28 contested a Stableford event on Sunday with Derek Beehan (42) taking home the ‘bickies’ from Ernie Potter (42) and Tom Fox (42).
Nearest the pins shots were recorded by Potter and Lincoln Brenton.
A Stableford event was the challenge for 15 players on Wednesday.
Colin Green, with 42 points, proved too good on the day to win with Bian Smith (40) and Wayne Betcke (38) filling the minor placings.
Nearest the pins shots were recorded by ‘nearest the pins specialists’ Bill Bartlett and Bruce Mitchell.
This weekend’s golf program commences with the annual Inter-Mine Challenge which is a three person Ambrose event.
Tee off is 10am. So gather your team together and come down for a good fun day where a ‘Poison Cart’ will cater for those suffering from dehydration on the day.
Sunday will be a stableford event.—contributed
