Sunday’s Fun Bowls at the Services Club ‘turned the greens pink’ to raise funds for the Jane McGrath Foundation.

There was a good turn-up of 24 players, including three beginner players, Pam Sikora, Regina Wilson and Bev Mitchell.

Two games of 14 ends were to be played, however with the approach of the afternoon’s storm, the second game was called off after 10 ends.

The winners and runners-up were then pulled out of a hat.

The winning team was Paddy Phillips, Ev Hyde and John Grogan, while Marion and Bob Williams, with Ellen Tupper, took out the runner-up prize.

Ev Hyde won the spider prize, while Marion Williams won the ditcher prize.

A delicious barbecue lunch was enjoyed by all, and the amount of $601.25 was raised for the Jane McGrath Foundation.

Saturday Jackpot Bowls played at the Services Club last week had eight players on the green.

The winners of the day were Paddy Phillips and Marge Dowling, while the runners-up were Ron Hanns and Joy Josephson.

There were no results recorded from Golden Oldies bowls played last Wednesday.—Wrong Bias
