Cobar is slowly returning back to normal this week after last week being inundated by all things spooky and scary for the annual Festival of the Miner’s Ghost. Activities throughout the week were well attended, and as the weekend approached the festival stepped up a gear, officially kicking off with a massive fireworks display over the open cut. Drummond Park was packed with families and bargain hunters on Saturday for the Kubby House markets, and the Monster’s Ball transformed the Cobar Bowling and Golf Club into what looked like a scene from a horror movie. Among the crowd at the ball was coven of witches Fiona Hillier, Joy Martin, Shae Martin, Karen Power, Jodie Goonrey and Racquel Potter.
