Two local artists have been invited to exhibit their works at NSW Parliament House next year.
Local artists Yvonne Beard and Sharon Ohlsen are among 10 artists from the western area who were invited to be part of the Outback Art Exhibition by Member for Barwon Kevin Humphries and Member for Murray Darling John Williams.
The artists have been invited to submit a number of pieces of work for the display which will run throughout November 2010.
According to the invitation information, the exhibition is an exciting opportunity for the artists.
“The aim of this exhibition is to showcase these artists, their talents and their land to all who see their work and to bring through visual appreciation the unique beauty and spirit of the NSW outback to the many residents of Sydney as well as the national and international visiting tourists, leaving a lasting impression and welcome desire for all to visit these areas; thus increasing an economic return to the area.
“The exhibition will also be promoted and invitations will be sent to key dignitaries and industry contacts so that they too may be able to experience this wonderful exhibit.”
