Andrew named April Young Achiever for excellent work ethic

April 2009

October Young Achiever Josie Anderson
Cobar Shire Council apprentice boilermaker Andrew McRobert, with council general manager Ray Smith, workshop supervisor Brad Lennon and leading hand Tim Lee.

Local apprentice boilermaker, 21 year old Andrew McRobert, is The Cobar Weekly and Cobar Youth and Fitness Centre’s Young Achiever for the month of April.

Andrew, a third year apprentice, was nominated by his employer, Cobar Shire Council, for excellent results at TAFE, a good attitude and pleasing work ethic.

“He has performed extremely well in his TAFE studies, gaining ungraded passes in all subjects and two distinctions in subjects that were graded.

“He has an impressive course attendance record of 100 per cent,” his nomination said.

“Andrew has been nominated because he has impressed his supervisors at the council with the excellent standard of his workmanship.

“His persistence at a task and reliability are also to be commended,” the nomination said.

Andrew’s workshop supervisor Brad Lennon said he was a very deserving recipient of the award.

As part of Cobar Shire Council’s sister city program with Canterbury City Council, Andrew also recently visited the city as a reward for his work and to gain more experience.
