Naomi Hare recognised as our latest Young Achiever

July 2011

The most recent recipient of The Cobar Weekly’s Young Achiever Award is someone who is more used to giving than receiving.

Naomi Hare was jointly nominated for the Young Achiever Award by her employer Sharon Huon at the Lilliane Brady Village and by the Baptist Church where she volunteers her time.

The soon-to-be 21 year old works at the Village as an AIN (Assistant in Nursing) and has recently completed her Certificate III in Aged Care Work.

“Naomi is reliable, caring and professional in her work with the residents at the Lilliane Brady Village,” Mrs Huon said.

“She also helps care for her sister who has a debilitating illness and needs fulltime care.”

Baptist Pastor Andrew Sumpton has praised Naomi’s involvement on a volunteer basis with the church’s kids’ club.

“Naomi is one of the leaders in a primary aged kids club, Awanna.

“She is always there way before the club starts helping in setting up and ready to jump on the bus to help in picking up the children and dropping them off,” Pastor Sumpton said.

“Naomi participates in various rosters at the church to help with its day to day function—morning tea for Sundays, supper for Awana on Thursdays and is a welcomer to people before the church services.

“She is a mature, capable and reliable young woman, whom it has been a delight to get to know.

“She is honest and trustworthy, motivated to participate in events and I have also found her to be gentle and caring in nature,” he said.

Both Pastor Sumpton and Mrs Huon believe Naomi to be a very worthy recipient of the Young Achiever Award.
