December 2008

Cobar Cadet Unit officer commanding Captain (AAC) Colleen Boucher nominated The Cobar Weekly and Cobar Youth and Fitness Centre’s December Young Achiever Kyle Cartner for his dedication to the cadet organisation.
Total commitment to his role as an Army Cadet has earned 16 year old Cadet Unit Officer Kyle Cartner the title of The Cobar Weekly and Cobar Youth and Fitness Centre’s December Young Achiever.
Cobar’s Australian Cadet Unit officer commanding Captain (AAC) Colleen Boucher nominated Kyle for the award, saying he is a “role model” for other young people in Cobar.
“Kyle has trained to achieve NSW Cadet of the Year,” Mrs Boucher said in her nomination.
“He has the ability to work well with his peers, but also command respect when his rank requires it.
“He has reached a level where he is now training officers of cadets, and cadets,” the nomination said.
