Cricketer and all round sportsperson Wade Potter is The Cobar Weekly and Cobar Youth & Fitness Centre Young Achiever of the Month for January.
Cobar Cowboys senior representative team captain Phil Harley, who nominated Wade for the award, described Wade as an “exceptional young talent”.
Wade, who has just turned 15, plays in the Under 16s and senior local cricket competitions as well as being a representative player for Cobar.
This season he was selected in the Macquarie Valley Under 15s representative side.
He has also been a member of the Cobar senior representative team for the VB Country Plate series and the Macquarie Valley Brewery Shield competition.
Wade’s fast bowling talents earned him a place in the senior team.
Local cricket commentators have commended Wade on his achievements saying he acquitted himself very well against his more senior and experience opposition players.
The Cobar Weekly’s editor Sharon Harland presented Wade with his Young Achiever medallion and certificate during the drinks break of the Brewery Shield semi final match on Sunday at Ward Oval in front of his representative team mates.
