How do I place an advertisement in The Cobar Weekly?
The best way to place your advertisement is to visit our office before 2pm Monday on the week you want your ad to run in the paper. If you can't get to the office, simply call or email one of our friendly staff to discuss your needs and payment options. We do not accept advertising material over the phone, so it is best to have a typed or clearly handwritten copy of the information you want in your advertisement which you can bring in, fax or email to us. Is my advertisement a Classified or Display ad?
Advertisements in The Cobar Weekly fall into two categories. Items for sale, meeting notices, positions vacant, wanted advertisements, garage sales and public notices etc fall under the Classifieds category. This category also includes congratulations advertisements, memoriams, death notices, birth notices and thank you advertisements.
The display section is where bigger advertisements go. Display means any advertisement in the general part of the newspaper (ie not in the Classifieds section). If you are unsure what your advertisement is please contact the staff at The Cobar Weekly for more information.

The cost of an advertisement in The Cobar Weekly is based on many factors. We have a set list of a number of sizes and prices available, as well as per word rates, special contract rates and a centimetre-column rate. How can I pay for my advertisement?
All advertising needs to be pre-paid before it appears in The Cobar Weekly. Payment can be made in person with cash, credit card or cheque at our office. If you can't get to our office, payment can be made over the phone by credit card, you can post a cheque or money order, or you can deposit directly to our bank account. How can I submit my advertising material?
The most preferred way of accepting advertisements is typed on an A4 page, via fax or email. Once contents are approved by the advertiser The Cobar Weekly will take no responsibility for errors occurring due to wrong information. Where possible customers will be sent proofs of advertisements for approval prior to print.
Draft material will not be accepted. It is the advertiser’s responsibility to provide The Cobar Weekly with the material as it is to appear in the publication.

The Cobar Weekly is released every Wednesday at 9am. Where a public holiday falls on a Monday, that week's newspaper will be released on Thursday.

The Cobar Weekly has a weekly circulation of up to 1,700 copies, which are distributed throughout Cobar as well as surrounding villages. A number of subsciptions are also sent out each week to all parts of Australia.
